Our work at InnovateHER is based on two core principles: inclusion and low-barrier-to-entry.
Every decision we make is filtered through these two lenses in our quest to democratize access to opportunity for ALL women and gender minorities in KC.
We believe that people help people they know, like, and trust.
That's why we create ample space for our members to connect with no name tags and no agenda, just the pleasure of each others' company. You'll find plenty of purely social events like our monthly meetups, movie dates, Galentine's Day celebrations and more on our calendar. We hope you can join in the fun!
Knowledge is power and our impact events are designed with our members in mind.
Often developed in response to conversations that happen in our virtual community, we create intentional and meaningful professional learning opportunities for our members. With opportunities like InnovateHER Institute sessions and InnovateHER Office Hours, our professional development events take the guesswork out of leadership for emerging and established leaders by offering opportunities to grow together.
At InnovateHER KC, we believe in the cyclical nature of leadership.
We ask our members to engage with people whose lived experience can help them on their journey - and then we ask them to reach out and support those coming up behind them. Our members have the opportunity to proactively form relationships with potential mentors by asking questions through our virtual community or at our quarterly Mentor Mingles. We also intentionally provide opportunities for members to work with youth on the rise through partnered community events.
Championship can be one of the most effective ways to increase brand recognition and trust, whether it come through referrals or storytelling at scale.
That's why we take the time to sponsor members to the community-at-large. We broadcast member stories to a large, global audience through the Startup Hustle podcast, encourage the public to shop innovateher-led brands and products through The InnovateHER Gift Guide, NomBomb (nominate and vote for members as a group) when awards come up, tout member wins in our virtual community, and shout out member profiles through social media spotlights and live events.
One of the greatest benefits of a strong, connected community is the ability to share tools and opportunities that can help each another along the way.
At InnovateHER, we develop and maintain a significant library of resources like the InnovateHER Speaker Directory, The InnovateHER Virtual Bookstore, the Women-Led Business Directory, media outreach lists, coworking discounts, and other member perks to help support and amplify the work of our members.
InnovateHERS are audacious innovators, industry disruptors, intentional connectors and courageous changemakers ready to challenge the status quo in the name of economic and cultural progress in our communities.
